germany vs Scotland Match Preview

Here we go! This is the opening match of the tournament and the hosts Germany take on Scotland in Munich. On paper, Germany should win by a couple of goals and take all 3 points.

The Germans have a young manager in Julian Nagelsmann who wants his team to control the play with a hard press. They will try to dominate possession and I’m expecting them to have 65-70% control. Scotland, who are an inferior team, also try to play with good possession numbers.

Germany are still a bit workmanlike at times. In their recent match against Ukraine they had an impressive 27 shots but failed to score, which could be a big problem for them. They need to be more clinical in front of goal.

Uninspiring Scots

Scotland have recently been uninspiring and their results are poor. They were expected to beat Finland in their final warm up match and only drew. They were 3.5 goal favourites versus Gibraltar and only managed a 2-0 win.

The Tartan Army were also meant to beat Northern Ireland by over 2 goals and lost the match, although to be fair, they did dominate that game.

I see this match as a 2-0 win to Germany, so I would advise Germany -1.5 Goals, Total Goals Under 2.75.
