York Ebor Meeting Day-3 Tips for Live ITV Races
Tips and Preview of All ITV Live Races At York
Day 2 was a struggle for us at York. Liberty Beach was left with too much to do and Jason Hart would ride her differently if the race was rerun. Good Vibes ran really well to grab 3rd and she clearly needs quick ground. Cheat had to play second fiddle to his stablemate Mums Tipple who produced a performance for the ages. Ryan Moore surged clear to win by 11L and Group company awaits the Hannon charge. Petrus was slowly away and never landed a blow, while Enable did what Enable does and won. Hopefully we can get some of our losses back on Friday, check out Dave Stevos’ York Ebor Meeting Day-3 tips below…
York Ebor Meeting Day-3 Tips: 1.55 Handicap (Class 2)
It is 13/2 the field in this 12f handicap and as the betting indicates, it is wide open. The one I like at a nice price each way here is Tamleek. This lightly raced 5yo is having just his 3rd start for David O Meara. Formerly with Saeed Bin Suroor, he had some pretty smart form in 2017. He earned a rating of 107 after a couple of creditable efforts in Group company but he missed all of 2018. Whatever problem he had seems to be behind him now as his first two runs for O’Meara were pretty encoruaging.
On his stable debut he was far from disgraced in a hot Class 2 conditions race at Doncaster (12f gd/fm). He finished 5th of 6, beaten 6L for the win by the useful Red Verdon. He was only a couple of lenghths behind Indianapolis though (conceding 1lb) and he is 9lb better off with that rival here. He stayed on late in the day over 10f (gd/sft) at Doncaster last time in a handicap off 96 and he is now 6lb lower. The return to 12f and faster ground should suit and at odds of 25/1 a big run could be on the cards.

York Preview Friday: 2.25 – Lonsdale Cup (Group 2)
If Thursday at York was all about admiring Enable, Friday is all about staying power with Stradivarius. This winning machine rarely scores by a big margin and he always gives the impression he has more to come. The 5yo son of See The Stars won this race last year, beating Count Octave by 1.5L. He is on a nine timer now and he is defending a 100% record on the Knavesmire (3/3).
Dee Ex Bee looks his most obvious challenger after chasing him home the last twice. However, Stradivarius clearly has his measure and he was flattered by his proximity to the Gosden horse last time. Il Paradiso is an interesting contender for Ballydoyle and it will be interesting to see how he gets on. He was ultra impressive in winning a 16f Curragh handicap off 89 last time but this demands a lot more. It is impossible to look past Stradivarius here but at 1/2 I will just watch and enjoy. No bet.
YORK EBOR MEETING DAY-3: NO BET
York Ebor Meeting Day-3: 3.00 – Gimcrack Stakes (Group 2)
Richard Hannon landed the big 2yo sales race here yesterday with Mums Tipple and he has another live chance in this Group 2 race for colts and geldings. Threat is the market leader for Hannon and Oisin Murphy and with a rating of 111, he is the definitely the one to beat. He has rattled the crossbar in Group 2s the last twice and it would be no surprise if he broke his duck here.
However, at a bigger price I like the profile of Summer Sands. He represents the winning connections from last year and he ran a cracker on soft ground in the Windsor Castle at Ascot (5f soft). His previous defeat of Oh Purple Reign is rock solid form that ties in with Acomb 3rd Ropey Guest. The way he finished at Ascot suggested that 6f would really suit and at odds of 20/1 he could run into the money for his in form yard.

York Racing Preview: 3.35 – Nunthorpe Stakes (Group 1)
This year’s Nunthorpe looks a mouth watering contest and a dozen of the world’s best sprinters will go to post. Run over the flying 5f, Ten Sovereigns is a warm order to follow up his emphatic July Cup win. Aidan O’Brien wasted no time dropping him back in trip after a failed attempt at a mile in the Guineas. The drying ground will suit, he gets 2lb from Battaash and he is a worthy favourite at 13/8.
Battaash is clearly a hugely talented sort, but like most geniuses he has his flaws. He can get worked up before his races and worryingly for his fans, he has never won at York. Mabs Cross came agonisingly close in this last year and she will run her usual solid race. Whether she is going to be able for Ten Sovereigns is debateable and her odds of 5/1 look skinny enough.
The one I am going to chance at a nice each way price is Fairyland. Donnacha will ride for his Dad Aidan and this daughter of Kodiac has followed a similar route to her stablemate. She didn’t get the trip on both tries over a mile and she has run better back in trip the last twice. She was a good 3rd behind Ten Sovereigns in the July Cup and she only has a neck to find with Mabs Cross on King’s Stand form. 14/1 looks a very big price and she looks worth chancing each way.
