2024 Belgian Darts Open Sunday Tips

It was another tough day for us on Saturday but the show must go on. James is back with another preview, his 2024 Belgian Open Darts Sunday afternoon tips are below.

Peter Wright vs. Jonny Clayton

Two players on the comeback trail. Wright took advantage of an out of sorts MVG last night. It was a poor match and not a great display from Wright who was changing his darts mid match again.

Clayton played much better to beat the tricky Berry van Peer. The Welshman enjoys this event and is a bit of a fan favourite. It was a 98 average for Clayton, just a 91 for Wright in their second round wins.

These two haven’t met since Clayton lost his form in the summer. He did win their last three matches, all Premier League matches, and all 6-5. Wright has won every time they have met on the Euro Tour.

Two players who are not yet back to top form means it could be unpredictable, but Clayton just looks to be playing better darts.

I’ll take Clayton to finally get a Euro Tour win over Snakebite

Rob Cross vs. Danny Noppert

This has ‘close match’ written all over it. Both players are playing well, both scoring well. Their H2H record is 3-3 and four of their five best of eleven leg matches have gone over 9.5 legs. A deciding leg would be no surprise.

Gerwyn Price vs. Gary Anderson

Price ended a five match losing streak with a 6-4 win over Clemens. He averaged 101 and withstood a lot of 180s from Clemens which kept him in the game.

Anderson averaged 102 in his 6-4 win over Harrysson. The Swede nearly kept his form of the first round up and he made Anderson work very hard for the win.

Today is a big test for Anderson. If he is to lift the trophy, he needs to win four matches, which he can do, on the same day, which I don’t think he can. He will be well rested for this match against his old foe, however. Anderson has been in top form on the floor this year and is the highest scoring player over the last 12 months, although Price is not far off him at all.

The Flying Scotsman has won seven of his last ten matches and hit a ton plus average in seven. He is playing better, more consistently than Price. Their H2H record is 13-11 to Anderson and he won all four of their matches in 2023.

Stephen Bunting vs. Mike de Decker

Mike de Decker is loving playing in front of a home crowd and he has raised his already good game. Can he keep it up? He is a very frustrating player, very talented but loses too many matches.

Bunting is back to his best and has won six of his last ten matches, and in good style. De Decker has won seven of his last ten matches, some with big averages, but less consistency.

Their H2H record is 6-4 to Bunting and in 2023 it was 2-2. The market has Bunting as the 1.48 favourite and De Decker 2.75. I do think Bunting wins, but his odds are looking a bit short. He will have the crowd on his back and De Decker is capable of beating him. De Decker is the value bet, but he is just a bit too flaky for me. No bet.

2024 Belgian Open Darts Sunday Tip: No Bet

That will it from me this weekend. It has been a horrible tournament betting wise, but hopefully our outright selections can turn out right. Just the Premier league next week. The Euro Tour returns on the Easter Weekend and is a Saturday to Monday schedule.
