2025 German Darts GP Sunday Preview
Just one winner for james this afternoon, he’s hoping to do better tonight. Check out his 2025 German Darts GP Sunday preview and tips below.
James Wade vs, Niels Zonneveld
The battle of the lefties. Zonneveld was outscored by Daryl Gurney yesterday but was never in any bother and won the match 6-3. Zonneveld used to have a terrible Euro Tour record. He played his first match in 2019, which he won, but he then lost nine of his next eleven.
However he has now won seven of his last ten and reached the semi-final of ET13 at the back end of 2024, his last Euro Tour event. Zonneveld is playing OK, winning six of his last ten matches, but he lacks the consistency to think he will have a deep run.
James Wade has won six of his last ten matches and made the PC quarter final on Tuesday. He has lost his last two second round matches on the Euro Tour, but he played well in both.
Their H2H record is 6-3 to Wade and he has won their last three, including a 6-2 win on the Euro Tour last year.
Wade is the 1.71 favourite and he has won their last three matches easily, with a cumulative score of 18-8.
2025 German Darts GP Sunday Tip: 1 point James Wade to win -1.5 legs @ 2.23 with Livescorebet
Gerwyn Price vs. Raymond van Barneveld
Price is the 1.36 favourite here, but he has had problems with Barney in the past. Their H2H record is 8-6 to RVB but Price has wrought vengeance on Barney in recent matches, winning their last four.
Three were best of eleven leg matches and Price won those 6-1, 6-2, 6-1. The other was a 4-0 win at the 2023 World Championship. They last met on Tuesday. Barney played well, averaged 98 but lost 1-6. I expect something similar.
2025 German Darts GP Sunday Tip: 1 point Gerwyn Price to win -2.5 legs @ 2.20 with BET365
Dave Chisnall vs. Dirk van Duijvenbode
Dirk thrashed Andy Boulton 6-1 yesterday and it was a good performance. Boulton tried his usual tricks to slow the game down but Van Duijvenbode was wise to it and stuck to his task. He has won eight of his last ten matches and he is good for a few wins until he gets sight of the winning post.
Chizzy is treading water as he tries to regain his form following a back problem. He has won five of his last ten matches but had four sub 90 averages. He isn’t really able to hit the high notes and his last 50 matches have seen just two ton plus averages.
Their H2H record is 3-2 to Chisnall. They last met in a Players Championship final last year which Chisnall won 8-6, but that was before he lost his form.
Dirk is the 1.61 favourite and that looks about right to me. No bet.
2025 German Darts GP Sunday Tip: No Bet
Michael van Gerwen vs. Kim Huybrechts
Time to back the outsider? MVG is not in good shape. He is failing in the Premier League and he looks out of sorts. He did have a problem with his neck a couple of weeks ago but he played earlier in the week and in the PL, but it didn’t go well. His 2025 win rate is just 50% which sums his form up. He has lost eight of his last twelve matches.
Huybrechts isn’t a top player anymore, but he does give it his best shot every time. He is in worse form than MVG. His win rate is just 46% and he has lost eleven of his last fourteen matches.
However, scratch beneath those dreadful stats and he has played some good stuff recently. He beat a local qualifier 6-0 last night, averaging 104. That was his fifth ton plus average in his last eight matches, so it did not come from out of the blue.
MVG is 28-10 in their Career H2Hs but I dare say Huybrechts will never have played MVG in such poor long term form. They have only played three time in the last four years and Huybrechts won two.
2025 German Darts GP Sunday Tip: 1 point Kim Huybrechts to win @ 3.00 with Ladbrokes, Skybet, Betfred
Luke Littler vs. Cam Crabtree
Crabtree is a young player to keep an eye on. He has a very dodgy tache but he can play darts. He beat Luke Woodhouse 6-5 yesterday but let a 4-0 lead slip and went 4-5 down. To his credit, he didn’t just fold but won the last two legs to get his first Euro Tour win. Job done and he can relax and just see how he gets on against the World Champion.
Littler introduced his new darts in the PL and ended up changing them mid game, which he went on to lose 5-6 to Stephen Bunting. He has lost five of his last ten matches, which is not like him.
Now Littler is back in his beloved Germany, he should be lifted by the crowd’s support. Only joking, he doesn’t like the Germans and if the fans get wind of that, he is going to regret winding them up. He shouldn’t have too much bother here as he is 5-0 against Crabtree, all at Development Tour level and with a cumulative score of 22-5.
It isn’t really a betting match. No bet.
2025 German Darts GP Sunday Tip: No Bet
Peter Wright vs. Mike de Decker
De Decker opened up with a regulation 6-3 win over Johan Engstrom. He has won six of his last ten matches and he is playing OK, but not with any great consistency.
Wright has also won six of his last ten matches and while he did reach the final of PC11 two weeks ago, he lost both his first round matches earlier this week. He is taking two steps forward and one step back as he tries to find his form.
Their H2H record is 6-3 to Wright but not surprisingly, De Decker has won the last three and he has already beaten Wright twice in 2025. They met in ET2 last month and De Decker won that 6-4. Both players averaged 105 in that match, so De Decker was able to see off Wright’s A game and that doesn’t get a run out very often these days.
De Decker is the 1.80 favourite and that is good enough for a bet.

Jonny Clayton vs. Martin Schindler
This will be tough for the in-form Clayton. There will be a full house in tonight, with the emphasis on full.
Schindler robbed us last night. We needed Super Mario to win four legs last night and he was sitting on 40, at 3-5, but Schindler checked out 101 to win 6-3. We were on the end of two three figure match winning checkouts last night which was annoying.
Schindler has won eight of his last ten matches, but one of those two defeats was to Jonny Clayton.
Clayton won PC14 on Tuesday and he has won twelve of his last thirteen matches. In his last three Players Championships he has finished quarter final, semi final and winner. He now needs to take that form to the stage.
We are on him outright, which is the kiss of death and he faces the home crowd favourite, but hopefully he can beat Schindler once again. He is 6-5 against the German, but on the Euro Tour, it is 3-0 to Schindler, including a 6-1 thrashing in ET2. No bet.
2025 German Darts GP Sunday Tip: No Bet
Ross Smith vs. Jermaine Wattimena
Wattimena didn’t get out of first gear in his 6-3 win over Michael Unterbuchner. It was a rubbish match but he won and will have to play better tonight. Wattimena has won seven of his last ten matches but while he is playing some great stuff, there are too many duff performances to think he can go deep.
Ross Smith has won six of his last ten matches and he is playing well, hitting seven 97+ averages. His lowest were a couple of 93s, so his B game is in good shape.
Their H2H record is 6-5 to Wattimena and he won their last match 6-1 back in February. On the Euro Tour it is 1-1 with a 6-2 win for Wattimena and a 6-0 for Smith.
Smith is very good form and playing well on the Euro Tour. He wants to win one of these titles this year and is going the right way about it.
