Saturday Dutch Darts Championship Match Betting Tips

Our darting doyen James Punt was in great form on Friday. He fired in three winners from four tips and he is back to cause the bookies more heartache today. Check out his Saturday Dutch Darts Championship match previews and tips are below.

Nathan Aspinall vs. Daryl Gurney

Superchin was in good form last night, beating Pietreczko 6-2 and averaging 101.1. There were three ton plus checkouts and it was a very encouraging performance coming on the back of his semi-final last weekend.

He has won seven of his last ten matches and leads Aspinall 7-3 in their H2H record. He has won their last three matches and The Asp last beat Gurney in 2019. Of their seven best of eleven leg matches, five have required ten or more legs and another close match is on the cards.

Aspinall The Fav

Aspinall has won six of his last ten matches and he is playing well in the main. He is the 1.57 favourite with Gurney a 2.40 chance. That would be fair enough if the match were being played a few months ago, but Superchin has been improving in 2023 and all he needed was a bit of luck and a good run to give him the confidence to take his game from the practice board to the stage.

He got that last weekend. He played with more confidence last night and that performance will have given him further encouragement.

It should be close but the value lies with Gurney.

Saturday Dutch Darts Championship Tip: 1 point Daryl Gurney to win @ 2.40 with Betfred, Boylesports
Saturday Dutch Darts Championship Tip: 1 point over 9.5 legs @ 2.00 with Ladbrokes, Betfred

Jonny Clayton vs. Berry van Peer

This a repeat of a Players Championship match played a few weeks ago, which was won by Clayton 6-4, averaging 104. Since then The Ferret has won the Austrian Darts Open last Sunday and he has won seven of his last ten matches, hitting five ton plus averages. His three defeats have been to Gerwyn Price (twice) and Josh Rock, pretty heavyweight competitors.

Van Peer is playing well and had his best Euro Tour run a couple of weeks ago, reaching the third round. He plays on the challenge tour and picked up a title last month, so he is feeling good. His last 11 matches have all been at pro-tour or Euro Tour level and he has won seven of them.

Van Peer has actually played Clayton twice in those last eleven matches, lost both, but kept Clayton honest with scores of 6-5 and 6-4. He is hitting a lot of high 90 averages and did so again yesterday in a 6-2 win over Alan Soutar with a 96 average.

There is every reason to think this will be another close one.

Saturday Dutch Darts Championship Tip: 1 point over 9.5 legs @ 2.15 with Ladbrokes

Michael Smith vs. Jim Williams

Williams put in a very good performance against George Killington yesterday, averaging 104 in a 6-1 win. That is his A game and when he gets some consistency, he can have good runs. He has won six of his last ten matches and while there have been a couple of sub 90’s, his scoring has generally been good.

Smith comes here on the back of a recent Euro Tour win and a PL night win on Thursday and has won seven of his last ten. Smith is the 1.40 favourite with Williams 3.30. The Welshman is not a Euro Tour specialist and doesn’t usually go that deep.

This is all about Williams. If he can repeat the kind of form as he showed last night he can cause Smith problems, but he will need to be good as Smith is in good nick. No head to head form to go on but I’ll take a chance that Williams can give it a good shot and have a close match.

Saturday Dutch Darts Championship Tip: 1 point over 9.5 legs @ 2.20 with Hills, Betvictor

Ryan Searle vs. Dimitri van den Bergh

Dimitri averaged 105.6 in his 6-3 win over Raymond van Barneveld last night and he has won seven of his last ten, but he has put in a few duff performances recently. His doubles were not great and that is still a part of his game which is a bit erratic.

Searle is hard to pin down. He started the season in great form, winning a Players Championship and being runner up in two more. Since he took three weeks off, he hasn’t played as well. He has lost five of his last ten matches and half of those ten have seen sub 90 averages.

Their H2H record is 6-3 to Ryan Searle but Dimitri won their only Euro Tour match 6-1 last year. They have played six best of eleven matches and five lasted less than ten legs. Under 9.5 legs is 1.85, but I’ll skip this one as they are closely matched players and you would think that it should be close.

Saturday Dutch Darts Championship Tip: No Bet

Michael van Gerwen vs. Gabriel Clemens

Clemens took advantage of a couple of small mistakes by Gian van Veen to nick the match 6-5 yesterday. It was a 98 average for the German Giant and he has been playing very consistently at that sort of level for the last month or so. He just wasn’t getting many breaks and was losing more matches than he should. He has played MVG twice and lost both by some margin. They were both back in 2020, so it’s fairly old form.

MVG has lost five of his last ten matches and his confidence looks very fragile. He is scoring well but having some nightmares on the outer ring. He seems to panic quite easily and that is a sign that he is not happy with his game. Van Gerwen is the 1.33 favourite with Clemens a 3.60 shot.

Clemens is playing well and he if can put enough pressure on MVG to press that panic button, he is in with a realistic chance, better than the odds suggest.

Saturday Dutch Darts Championship Tip: 1 point Gabriel Clemens to win @ 3.60 with Hills, Unibet

Peter Wright vs. Krzysztof Ratajski

Peter Wright is the favourite here, marginally, at 1.91, with Ratajski 2.00. Wright is not in good form and hasn’t been for most of the year. He has lost six of his last ten matches and lost his last two Euro Tour matches 1-6. Half of his last ten matches have seen decent performances, the other five, a load of pants.

Ratajski won Players Championship 9 a couple of weeks ago but lost four of his next eight. He has lost two Euro Tour second round matches this season. He beat Andy Boulton 6-4 yesterday and averaged 99.7. Something similar and he has every chance here.

He just doesn’t inspire much confidence despite some great form on the floor recently. There was the PC9 win but he was runner up in PC8 and a semi-finalist in PC7. His stage form in 2023 is played six and lost four. It is that stage fright that puts me off. That, and his 1-13 H2H record with Wright. No bet.

Saturday Dutch Darts Championship Tip: No Bet

Luke Humphries vs. Ross Smith

Smudger averaged 101 in a 6-0 thrashing of Wattimena last night. Why wasn’t I on?! It was classic Smith, four 180s, 66% on doubles and a big average. His recent form has been a bit patchy with six wins from his last ten and a mix of some very good stuff mixed with a few duff matches. He has won four of his seven Euro Tour matches but if he can keep up his form of last night, he can have a good run.

Humphries got beaten 1-6 against Daryl Gurney this time last week. He only averaged 88 in what was a very out of character performance. He has won six of his last ten matches and has usually been banging in high 90 averages. Cool Hand can let his head drop too easily and if Smith can put him under pressure, he is in with a decent chance.

Their H2H record is 5-3 to Humphries and it is 1-1 in 2023. They have played five best of eleven leg matches and all five were 10 legs or more. They are both playing well enough to think that this will be another close one. They usually hit a lot of 180s between them, a total of 28 in their last four best of eleven leg matches.

Saturday Dutch Darts Championship Tip: 1 point over 9.5 legs @ 1.91 with Ladbrokes
Saturday Dutch Darts Championship Tip: 1 point over 6.5 180s @ 1.91 with Betfair

Dirk van Duijvenbode vs. Dylan Slevin

Dirk is the 1.30 favourite and rightly so. He is one of the best players of 2023 with a 78% win rate and a seasonal average of 96.8. He has won three Players Championships this season and been runner up in one Euro Tour event, missing match darts to beat Gerwyn Price in PC2.

Slevin is averaging 90.4 but has won 72% of his matches in 2023. Yeah, OK, he plays on the Development Tour which skews that figure. He made his Euro Tour debut last weekend, losing 2-6 to John Henderson. He doesn’t have the fire power to live with Dirk and the Dutchman on home turf should get a comfortable win.

Saturday Dutch Darts Championship Tip: Dirk van Duijvenbode to win -2.5 legs @ 2.00 with Ladbrokes, Betvictor
