Saturday Dutch Darts Championship Tips

James Punt landed a couple of winner’s on Day 1 and he is hoping for even better today. Check out his Saturday Dutch Darts Championship Tips below.

Ryan Searle vs. Ross Smith

Heavy Metal is the 1.53 favourite here, despite Smith having a 4-1 H2H record and with Searle’s form not his best. He has lost five of his last seven matches.

Smudger Smith has won six of his last ten, but he is not quite at his best. He did reach the quarter final two weeks ago and accounted for Joe Cullen in the second round, averaging 97.8. That should serve as a warning for Searle.

At the odds, Searle is worth taking on. The last time they met, last month, Smith averaged 108 in a 6-1 win.

Damon Heta vs. Scott Waites

Waites beat Connor Scutt yesterday, but he was far from impressive, averaging 83.5 with just 25% on the doubles. It was a performance at the lower end of his spectrum but even his A game is likely to be outscored by Heta.

Heta has a 3-1 H2H record over Waites, and they last met in ET3 when Heta won their third round match 6-3, averaging 100. Heta is averaging 98.44 in 2022 and while he hasn’t done as well as his game allows, he reached the semi-final last weekend and should get past Waites fairly comfortably.

Dimitri van den Bergh vs. Boris Krčmar

This is a real puzzle. Big Boris has an A game that can trouble the best. He is a huge, intimidating figure which may play a part. He averaged 99 when beating Steve Lennon 6-5 yesterday and he won five of his last ten. He is not a consistent player, and when he loses, he tends to lose big. He gives up too easily.

Van den Bergh reached the final of ET5 four weeks ago, losing to MVG. Since then, he has played five and lost four. He went out to Joe Murnan at this stage last week and it is not a given that he wins this.

These two have yet to meet and while a 6-1, 6-2 win for Dimitri would be no surprise if Boris has a huff, the odds about the big Croatian are good enough to have a punt.

Jose de Sousa vs. Dave Chisnall

A first meeting for these two. There isn’t much in it scoring wise, but Chizzy is in better form, winning seven of his last ten and has a win rate of 70% in 2022. He finds things tough in the later stages, but he farms a lot of prizemoney by having good runs.

De Sousa’s win rate (63%) and seasonal average (95.16) are both in retreat. He has lost five of his last ten matches and four of his seven opening matches on the euro tour this year.

Evening Session

Peter Wright vs. Jermaine Wattimena

Wright is 13-4 in terms of their H2Hs and he has only lost once to Wattimena on stage. The Machine Gun beat a very ordinary Rene Eidams 3-6 last night, giving it large like he was averaging a ton rather than a rather tame 85.9.

Wright should be too good for Wattimena and I’ll take him to win 6-3 for what would be the fifth time in 13 best of eleven matches.

Saturday Dutch Darts Championship Tips: 0.5 point Peter Wright to win 6-3 @ 5.50 with Betfred

That is it for the rest of this tournament as it is clashing with the Monaco Grand Prix.
